    DM800 wont boot or flash

    hello everyone,

I am new to the world of satelite boxes having bought Dreambox 800hd from fleabay and am in need of help

the box worked for about a week with some crashing and green screens and now all it does is have yellow/green lights and fan noise.

downloaded universal dreamup v1334 and connecting box by null modem cable to pc.

all i get is "connection prepared, now switch on dreambox!" have tried with and without holding down silver power button. apart from noise of fan and green/yellow light nothing happens

can anyone help me please. is it dead ?

If its connected via the router
          Try 192.168.0.1
          All the way upto 192.168.0.9
One of them should give you acsess
          Hope this helps ..............Paul

            Older DreamUp

If You have a clone, try to use an older version of DreamUp.

you need to find out the correct ip address then, the error you are giving is due to the wrong ip address being inputted..

not all routers assign the same ip path.. for example my old router assigned 192.168.1.x to devices where my new one assigns 192.168.0.x

you need to log into your router and see what address it has assigned to your dreambox

if you dont know that address go into your PC to the following:

Control Panel -> Network & Internet -> Network Map

There you will see your router listed as Gateway, right click over Gateway and select "View Device Web Page"

this will take you to your router log in page

Failing all that you will have to Flash the old fashioned way with a Null Modem cable

many thanks for that, very helpful

i got on to my router and saw the various ip addresses for wireless printers, ipod etc but not one for dreambox

dreambox connected to router by an ethernet cable so i would expect to see an address for it

                  any suggestions ?
