    DM800 USALS Help Please

Hi, going to have a go at setting up a motorised system shortly. before i have a go, just want a couple of things cleared up, hope someone here can help.

Have looked at a few guides. I want to set it up for USALS, by pointing it first at 28.2E. Question is, do i have to first manually drive the motor to 28.2 (using the scale on the motor), and then set up the dish, or leave the motor at 0, then set it up, hope im clear?

Also my longtitude is a negative number (-1.57), i gather this means WEST. But how do i enter this in my DM800, i see no way of putting a negative number in.

Thanks, sorry if not totally clear there, hope someone can help.

yeah i have red that and undertsand it but it does not answer the question im asking about initial motor setting. do i set this at 0 when setting up to point at 28.2, or do i drive it in manual first to 28 degress then set it up.

have worked out long and lat settings so please ignore that bit of first message, thanks.

hi Neil. All the guides will aim you to set up to thor 1west, but I don't see any reason why you can't use 28e, as long as you are confident you can line it up for your best signal. You have obviously read westkills guide, so you now know how to sort your tuner configuration on stb, when that is done ftp a set of working channel settings via dreambox edit or dreamset, thats your box sorted. Then fix the dish set it up as your instructions, line up to due south connect your coax, then go and pick a fta channel on your box and it should drive it to where 28e should be. Now it's down to you, to line up for best signal. Best if you have access to a decent sat meter.

        Good luck mate !!

people say 1w as its the central satellite so the motor and dish would be almost straight and easyest to find.
