New Remote on Clone DM800

purch8ased a new remote for my dm800 clone anyway theyve sent the new style remote and it does seem to work.
Is there anything i can do get this to work on my clone?

no it was this remote did order the black one in ur pic but this came. they said it works with all dreamboxes, checked the official dream forums and they say it will only work with with the dm8000. shame really cuz i think its by far the best lookin dream remote.

on a side note my clone remote will only work when pointed directly in front of the box wud that be a problem with the infred on the remote or the clone dm800

its the width of the beam... you get what you pay for

I had a simillar problem and found it was due to poor manufacturing of the box rather than a faulty remote.
There was excess plastic on the front panel covering the ir window .Once removed it now operates 100% from any angle or distance in the room as you would expect. May not fix your prob but worth checking out.
