Setting up my dreambox

Hi can anybody help? I have just purchased a dreambox DM 800 HD PVR new, to replace my old satellite equipment that I had. I have a 1 meter motorised dish controlled by a brand new Diseqc 1.2, I have replaced the old LNB with a new one, and I managed to get a lock on hotbird 13 and a few other satellites. It shows a strong signal on the SNR bar when I store and then go to auto scan it come up with nothing I even tried manual and still the same, the dish moves when I try a different sat but no picture. Iam sure it something simple but I just can't see it. I have connected the dreambox via a LAN cable to my wireless sender and it is connected to the internet but I don't think that's an issue yet. I guess at some stage I will need to get my pc connected to it, would I need to download any special software? any bodys help would be greatfull.

have you tried scanning sky 28.2 for freeview channels you should get them.You also need to download the dreambox control centre software(free) and dream edit so you can edit your channels and put your c lines into the dreambox.

Hi thanks for your reply, I just downloaded both softwares you mention, I will also do a freeview scan,I just need a chance to work them out, this realy is very new to me but I will get there, just a stupid question what do you mean by c lines? Thanks again.

Hi again ,if you are still having trouble scanning for channels let me know and I will try and do a walkthrough later today for you. The c lines let you watch more channels .

Hi mate not having a lot of success I did a freeview scan and stiil comes up with nothing, I downloaded the two mentioned sites and linked the tools programe with dreambox.... Funny enough I even set up the the dream box
Configuration Mode: Advanced, according to one of the links
were it guided me through even put the my Latitude information and longitude settings, did my usauls, I also configuard the other saterlites, I did automatic and manual scans still nothing....
I purchased this dreambox from the internat, it all looks original with serial numbers and dreambox logos but I think it was posted from abroad, do you think it might have the wrong setting ie channels? I still think its something silly just cant put my finger on it. Might need your help mate when your ready.

Press menu setting,service searching,tuner configuration and select simple positioner mode.Put in your correct long and lat and you will be fine. Usals is alot easier and you will get all your channels just put in new bouquet like Sgtflipflop or Catseyes,both very good.

Hi Andy thanks mate, tried this but still got nothing in search, loading new bouquets sounds like it might do the trick but they all seem to be old any idea were I could download upto date set?

There you go mate just select the right ones for your box,
Just use Dreamboxedit to upload them.

epg for gemini

hi Andy , sorry to go off subject for a minute but i have just loaded gemini 5.10 on my 800hd and i would like to know if there is a decent epg out there similar to the one on dream elite .

Im using Dreamelite at the moment or Nabilosats Blackhole with Rytec,can you get that with Gemini and if not can you manually ftp it or manually add it??

the only way i have heard of is to crossepg then i can use rytec but i'm unsure how to do that
