Sorting out current EPG alternatives

Hi,
I am somewhat a noobie and my biggest problem so far is getting good EPG info for my packages - preferably in English.
I have read through dozens of forums and posts and tried several solutions, but many of them are either outdated, don't seem to work, or just don't give me EPG info for my packages.

I would really appreciate it if someone would:
1. Sort out EPG alternatives - what's currently available and working.
2. How do I add sources for packages that the default installation doesn't cover?
3. What's the best graphical display plugin for EPG?

DM800 EPG

Having used a variety of images for my DM800 I always seem to revert to nabilo black hole/ dream elite setup. These have epg options built in and you can easily update a sky uk or sky it programme guide for several days ahead automatically. I've never had much joy trying to add epg facilities to standard images without built in packages. Others more able than me may be able to offer some advice here but I'd stick with nabilo for ease of use.
