dreambox dm800 hard drive

hi,
i have a dreambox dm800 hd and have a external 2tb hdd. I have partioned this so i can use on my wii. I want to use the other half of the partiotion on my dreambox .

When i plug this in iy sees the whole 2tb and wants to format this.

Surely there is a way round so it sees just the partition i want it to see ....please help!

Is the external drive formatted with ext3 on the first partition? I'm guessing, and I don't have a DM800, that it will be looking to have the first partition as ext3 (or is it ext2) so if you partitioned your drive for the wii first that might be the problem.

Finally got it sorted! What a Relief!!
I split my drive into two partitons using Easeus Partiton Master. The 1st partion formatted to Ex3 and the 2nd formatted to NFTS.
Then connected the external to the dreambox and then mounted it.
Then I ftp'ed into my box and created a folder called movie in the /media/hdd path. so it looks like /media.hdd/movie
Thats it. Sorted
Now i can use my hdd for recording on the Dm800 and for storing my movies
