    HDMI / DVI Lead

I'm having a few problems with my box and I think the culprit is the DVI > HDMI lead.

Will any DVI > HDMI lead work with the dreambox?

Or would I buy better off buying an DVI > HDMI adapter then a new HDMI lead.

Looking for something cheap but with a decent shield. Any suggestions much appreciated!

The television picture goes every so often in connection with anything to do with the electrical supply such as the thermostat kicking in or the oven being turned off a plug being put into a socket etc. Its only gone for a split second but has done it while the football is on which is a nightmare!

I've done lots of tests and its not the sat signal or the dreambox losing power so I am going to try a new hdmi dvi cable to see if it cures it or not.

I thought the box might be losing a bit of power hence the black screen but now think it might be the hdmi lead instead as the box doesn't reboot and the front screen stays on while the picture is gone.

It might be an issue with the box so I can say to my supplier that I have now purchased an expensive lead and it hasn't cured the problem.

Currently looking at a quad shielded belkin lead.

Milkcup. I have been involved in a couple of threads regards this issue.
My dm800hd has rev m tuner.

        Newnigma2 image (pre installed)

Also 2 twin fans, 1 below and 1 above, each unit has 1 fan pulling and the other fan pushing, so super cool.

I am having the same problems as you, yesterday we lost the picture 4 times in 1hr, I have tried 2 different dvi/hdmi leads, and tried both hdmi ports on the back of the tv. Tonight it has been ok, so pretty intermitent. I dont see it being connected to other electrical issues, but I have seen a post suggesting that it is something to do with the handshake between the two divices. As I dont have the issue with the dvd player or the ps3, I reckon there is a bug in the dm800 mate. I think if you are going to try the high quality dvi lead I will wait for your findings, but I think we have faulty DMs.

        Good luck

maybe worth trying a new psu , they are prone to putting out the wrong output , as very cheap componants and poor quality control issues ,
If you can get hold of a spare , might be worth trying ?

Thanks for the info mate. Sorry your having problems as well. My box is different to yours as it is a ferrari sim based model not a pro model with m tuner. So already we can rule out it being a bad batch of clones.

My box has only cut out twice today. Once when I turned the cooker off and another whilst watching the football. It use to be consistent with the thermostat which was about every twenty minutes I think. Moved the lead from a hdmi port on the back of the tele to one on the side which seems to have made it slightly less frequent.

The thermostat in my house is above my tele so probably the worst location ever!

Let me know if you find a cure for it.

That was my original thought, it might be worth a try. I have been looking for things around the house with a similar PSU. Really dont want to kill the box!
