i understand that you may want to vent your frustrations and are entitled to your opinion m8 but starting a thread like this isnt very constructive and more often than not ends up in a slagging match between certain members, isnt any help to anybody and gets closed by admin anyway. regards mdtDM800HDSE SIM 2.10. ive personally owned both tm500s and Dm500s clone,i think the UR images for the TM are far better than some around for the DM at the moment but i have played with Open PLI images for the dream and they are vastly expanding and getting more continued supportI couldn't wait for success, so I went ahead without it.Comment

i second that m8, i also have a tm600 running UR 18.2.2011 on a fixed dish at 28.2e and its absolutley flawless. i guess it all depends on what you are looking for/expecting from a img/team. regards mdtDM800HDSE SIM 2.10. SSL84D OPEN-ATV ORBITAL 80CM/DARK MOTOR/IBU/53E-30WComment

Depends what your comapring against...or if you have anything to compare with TM500/600 the best image is UR team..and thats pretty poor as it is, the others DS Team, etc are even worse..
It took UR over a year to sort out 16:9 widescreen issues, they still havent been 100% sorted...then you have unfixed bugs like CCCam server incompatibility, i.e: cant read certain cards directly with CCCam without running NewCS as well...this was reported to UR team over a year ago, other cards wont even read at all...the same cards read fine in cheap Dm500 clones..
Do a comparison of a TM500 UR vs DM500 with OpenPli, Gemini, Nabilosat etc..running on it...theyre vastly better images even though some of them havent been updated in a long time.
Same with TM600 vs DM600, you can get E2 images on a DM600 swappaple tuners etc...
So yeh TM500/600 may be adequate for your need and fair play of they are, but the software support is poor, and for the same money there is better alternatives..that are at least 3 years older...says it all really...
Not denying the hardware is fine for a E1 box, the 500 super adds a bit more RAM, but software is always going to be poor no decent development teams support TM Linux recievers....The majority of boxes get sold to pre pre-configured Cardshare traders...why do you think UR work so hard on Trader friendly features like, hidden Cam config files, passwords to prevent user access to setup modes etc...Last edited by gsmtech; 15 March, 2011, 17:42.Comment

Yup TM800 was even worse actually a rebagded ItGate reciever not a TM designed product. ...seems to have moved on a bit now, originally extremely poor...on release 80% of features not working... internal card reader wasnt working, PVR wasnt working, Media player not working, slow and sluggish performance, hard disk detection not working properly...fails to detect hard disc on bootup..etc etc.., early recieves reports of overheating fan was installed on later models by TM. Seen a few cases of receivers with faulty Flash memory, lots of green screens and crashes.
Recently, a major fault ws found with chipset drivers and CPU drivers so all TM800 units were advised to be sent back to TM for update.
Since the updates, apparently more stable, but still problems, media player not working yet, HD skins not working correctly with UR official images, hard disc detectuion still an issue
No real devleopment teams support the box still only UR Team using OpenPli source code but loads of issues trying to get it to work properly on NXP Chipset and CPU PLi orignally designed for Broadcom based Dreamboxes,, vastly bloated images after image install no space left on reciever...
So yeh..again the alternatives available are much better although TM800 has moved on a lot from it;s original state recently...and price has been cut from the over priced 250 quid to 199 Quid.
But considering...a DM800HD Pro clone is 130 from China with much better quality software images (Gemini icvs, Dremelite, oozoon, merlin, Newnigma,OpenPli,Sifteam EDG nemesis etc.. , and larger user base., and a Q Box Mini HD is 199 with Enigma 2 aand twin tuners, not to mention spiderboxes with gift all cheaper...once again the alternatives are still better.
Do some reading across various support forums and see whats out there, I dont own a TM800 (ITgate Rebadge) but if you follow the history of the reciever from release around a years ago...you'll see it's been a very poorly thought out and badly handled project.
Check the DW skinny images, rather than the bloated poor rubbish from UR TEAM, These recievers would probably have had a chance of being a competitor had a proper development team worked on the image instead of the muppets at UR TEAM...Last edited by gsmtech; 22 March, 2011, 16:24.Comment
