hello, ive got a technomate 5400 ci usb super, ive installed Phantompatch-TM5400CI_5600CI_SUPER_147p_12-1-11.stb by usb drive, ive got a motorised dish, finally set it up and can now get all satellites ect... just not to sure how to unscramble certain satellites, ive tryed some softcams by usb for each satellite but still scrambled. id like to unscramble 28.2, an 19.2e. do i need to update the keys by remote ect... any info would be well and truly appreciated, thanks

you will not get 28.2 with softcams and patches. Those channels are not hacked.
You would need a linux stb and some good friends to share a card

ok thanks, im thinking of getting a dreambox with cline for sat 28.2E. just wondering do you know if its possible to link up technomate 5400 to internet or is dream box 500s better.Comment

you can by a process called sssp ... you need to be running xp or vista.
i tried it a while back ... was a ball ache to find the info needed ... days of google .. you have to have your box connected to a pc for it to work.
i'd just use what files the lads have given you ... then get a linux box when you are ready to move on.

I lent a dreambox 500s to try, but only getting a 68 signal on 28.2E, tryed tweaking LNB no joy, so cant scan for channels as its not locking on to signal, but if i use technobox im getting 80 to 98 percent on channels an can get all channels no problem, so i think ill keep the technomate and have a go at that sssp.. would i connect to internet with a usb wifi dongle as it hasn't got a Ethernet port on the back like the dreambox 500s. thanka again for all info..Comment

The Tm has a lot better tuner than the dm500 ...
how u connect the laptop to internet does not matter ...
you will need a null modem cable to connect your tm5400 to your laptop ...
i might have the files and guides i downloaded some where
will have a search ... some time later and see if i can find them.

ok thanks again...... what box would you reccomend thats pretty easy to setup up on 28.2 with a cline ect... cant use a dreambox 500s as not getting a good enough signal to lock on, only getting 68% but get 98% on technomate 5400.Last edited by farra; 15 March, 2011, 21:42.Comment

theres nothing wrong with a dm500s if your happy with sd signals. sounds like your dish is slightly out. are you using the same transponder for your signal readings? and have you checked different transponders in low/high band and h and v also. if your after a hd box for using on 28.2e with a line then a openbox s9 seems to be the budget box of choice at the moment with alot of decent reviews on here and elsewhere around the forums. id check your dish alignment, lnb,cable and connections before getting a new stb . regards mdtDM800HDSE SIM 2.10.
