HI Guys just bought a TM3000D and plan to update the firmware (presently V3.56 11/06/2011 boot ver 1.13). I noticed there is another version i.e. Phantom (V3.64 12/02/2011) the date is however older than what I already have but the version number is newer. I am confused. I tried to update it anyway so I could possibly more channels but it just doesn't work. My laptop says transferring but the box does not show any activity and remains on the channel it is playing. I tried to use the HyerTerminal but it did not work then I found the TM 3000 series downloader (ver 1.1.3) which I am using as mentioned above. I am using Windows XP SP3 and dell Inspiron laptop with Serial port and proper cable. Can someone help me please. I'll really appreciate it as now I feel I have bought the wrong box since all support is dwindling.

Hi Many thanks for the quick response. However, now probably I have bricked my box. I tried it with GxUploader that I found on this forum. It showed all the right signals of transferring the file and updating the box but after this there are no lights except for a red light on the front (it usually had bright blue lights around the buttons). On the TV screen I have a constant "no picture" message. I am trying to do it now with your loader but there is no response on the box or tv. I changed it from COM1 to Auto also just in clase but no response. Any ideas??? Cheers.

          rizone,
          if you're using rs 232 cable,try crossing 2 and 3 ie
          wire 2-wire 3
          and
          wire 3 -wire2
these are the transmit and recieve wires.... computer transmits and your box recieves and vice versa.
          regards, mikie.

sorry mate I"v never heard of a GxUploader for use on a Technomate others may be able to help, does your computer have a proper rs232 port if so are you using a proper Null Modem cable.try it a few times turning the box off at the back and back on after "connect"on the loader.
My IT skills are pretty limited so I"v never tried software that has not been tested in the boxes I use.

Hi Dick b, Thanks for the response. Yes I am using a proper Nul cable and it does work. I use to use it for my Eurovox box in the good old days. The problem now is that the box is now only as if in standby mode with a red light and no other lights. The GXUploader is available in post #2 above in the uploader section where it mentions "How to fix TM-3000D".

Hi Mikiemo, I do not have a solder to rip the pins out and solder them back. But this cable has been working fine when I used it for my Eurovox last year B4 Nagra. It did work for transfering using a different downloader but now it does not work. Can anyone tell me how to identify clone from original TM-3000D just to find out if I have not been sold a wrong item.

I have switched off the box a number of times left it off and then switched on but I am not getting any joy. Could be something else for that matter. By the way the GxUploader is on the post #2 in this thread and number 2 in the download centre of TM-3000D. Thanks again for taking the pains.

Reason I chose GxUploader was that I could not find the updloader and the version 1.1.4 that was available would not open at extraction. Later found 1.1.3 but that did not work either. Lead me to find this one and with the instructions and screen shots seemed a safe bet then. But now it seems was not a good move. Still trying to find ways to undo my moves.

yes exactly. I shall now open the box (though new and under warranty) but what can I do? I'll look for the power supply faults as I rekon the lights should at least light up if nothing else. I'll try and open a new thread if this fails. Many thanks for all your time and guidance. Cheers mate.

rizone, when you say the red light is on ,do you mean the standby light? If so try pressing the red power button on the remote,it could be that simple..just saying, cheers

Hi Mikiemo, yes I have done that but no joy. I still cannot get over the thing that after flashing the box instead of rebooting it started showing the red light and the tele has "no picture" message on the top right. Will try other ways to check on the power tonite after my work.
