could be part of the problem if you have the money for the tm7102 i have the tm7100 have to say it's a great box the 7102 would have the extra features like the 5402 you tube and streaming from pc with next patch make sure you have a twin , quad or more lnb and you could move the 5402 to the bedroom plus the dtt is a nice extra to have do you know how to load the 7day-epg for astra 28.2 yet?

no you load it when you need it it's gone when you turn of your tm
        This might be useful
for who can use the 7day-epg on astra 28.2 east channels like the
6000+7000 super series +5402 (and does not know how to do this yet)
scan trp. 11.777 v 27.500 any tv channel on this transponder, will load the 7-epg on your stb ,go into epg mode on one of those channels by pressing epg and while staying in epg mode within a minute the epg will populate on almost all channels .(leave for 2 minutes to get full) i renamed one of the channels "7-day epg" take note that you will get name program only and not full info only on now and next when you refresh on the channel.
And of course the freesat is 7-day full info but very slow to load
just go on any freesat channel and press epg and after a good few minutes the full 7-day epg will load, if you press info while in epg it will tell you what days are loaded sofar, only on the freesat channels you will get fullinfo 7-day epg

with one motorised dish you can only view one sattelite while recording with the 7100/7102 just in case you did not know to get the full use out of it you would need two.i have a fixed dish with four octo lnb's aimed at the best sats for me

Ooops.. had no internet last night as I totally messed up the router settings.. had to reset the router and VM got the router talking to the modem again. Think I best leave the DHCP turned on.

I have installed loads of TM5402HD's and on VM's internet and have not had any problems, and i highly doubt that VM would be monitoring the packets received are huge for CS so would be near impossible to say what you where receiving.

most of the problems with the 5402 and Routers seem to resolve around people using Netgear routers and certain patches on the 5402, I know from experience that patch 106 works fine with the netgear and so does the latest 115p those patches in between do seem to cause problems but only with the netgear range of routers.

if you still having problems try an earlier patch and leave DHCP on instead of assigning an ip manually.

We have a bt router don't even know what patch we are using. How do you get that info up?
Would be useful if we could get patch and adding from someone who knows there are reliable and work

The latest patch 115p was making my box scramble and freeze even more so had to revert back to 111p which is a bit more stable for CS.
The box still scrambles though with the line connected.. very erratic!
I have 20mb line with VM and using a netgear router.. beginning to think I should of bought a different box... freeview channels work fine though.
