HD on TM6800

do the component sockets on the rear of a TM6800 support HD or must it be HDMI.

as far as i know the actual HD signal will only come trhough the hdmi lead with the component sockets you will get analog output as with the scart socket

Component can carry HD signal ok, wether the TM outputs this I am not sure but it looks like no.

yeah I want to free up an HDMI input on the TV I"m going to change the TM6800 onto component anyway as its not used much now and I"ll post back once done.

Hi Dick B , I had similar probs, used little HDMisplitter box( size of cigs pack). It has one out and three in, they are switched either manual or by the unit you switch on, so no getting up required!.

just a bit of follow up I have tried the TM6800 HD with component leads and its great virtually impossible to tell the difference between that and the HDMI output.but I will check out those splitters for future ref as behind the tv stand is a cable nightmare(good job its not wall mounted)

Mate has same set up in his pub, pic is excellent on 60" plasma using component, also has hdmis cable going out to other tv.
