Am I right in thinking that all the patches and keys on this site aren't going to get me any extra channels, above and beyond those freely available on Astra 28.2 E (Sky), until I invest in a motorised dish or a separate dish for my TM5200D? A "Yes" to this will save me an awful lot of looking. Thanks.

Yes thats right.
A sky card will get you the free to view channels .

Thanks for that. I do have a Skycard, but nowhere to put it on my 5200D. I was also led to believe that even with a reader in my 5200 there is no patch available to make use of the card, so a reader wouldn't be a worthwhile investment in my current setup.

If you bought a card reader with the latest patch your card should work, the latest patches state that nds cards are working..this is very recent

Thanks Sadiq. A late reply from me but maybe you check older posts you've made. Do you have any links to places selling a card reader. I've seen a couple on eBay for about ?25, but have no idea whether these are any good, whether they're a reasonable price etc. etc. Any comments would be appreciated.

A 1000series card reader should work but dont take my word on it yet..wait for confirmation..
