    HELP SAT FINDER

    Hi all

I recently had to update my box (TM500SUPER), via taking it to the supplier and renewing my sibscription. The problem with this is when i took the box home my box doen't lock onto 19.2e i can get pretty much all the other satelites. is there a simple way to lock on to the satelitte again. I'm a noob to this so as simple as possible please. I can get the company to send an engineer out to fix but this comes at a cost so i'd rather try and fix it myself @ no cost :-)

    Thanks in advance

if you are using USALS go to a sat you lock then go to the menu with your lat/long settings in and check they are correct if so adjust your Longitude by 0.2 degrees at a time either way to get max signal possible then save and exit.

i tried the above with no luck, but thats because i don't really know what i'm doing. as said im newbie to this.

Heres what caused my problem i took receiver to the shop and when i come home i connected the wrong antenna to my reciever. and have some how erased my 19.2e channels trying to correct this this was before i realised i put my s*y antenna in rather than my motorised antenna now i cant get my motorised to lock on to this frequency.

i'm not really sure how lock on to this so any help please

Its been a while since I had a tm500 so others will be more help but try this.
go to "automatic satellite search" and put 19E in the dropdown sat box>OK,you may have to press OK again once motor stops.just plugging in a 28.2 dish should not have erased anything.do you have all your other sats on the motor ok?

Hi just to update i managed to eventually figure this out, i dont know exactly what i did or didn't do but i managed to get my 19.2e back and running find.

I was speaking to a friend in my local pub and he was telling me about hi set up and sounded similar to mine he told me that with 1.1m dish that he can get hispasat 30w where we are and that its a very strong signal. he said that i should be getting this with a few other west sats but i cant seem to get my box to lock onto these signals. Is there anybody that knows how i get to lock onto other satelittes. I've tried the fine tune and fine move etc from 0.8w rite to 60w no joy locking onto any west sat

          Any help gratefully accepted

if you set it up for usals and the motor is correctly installed once you have found 1 sat all the rest will be found automatically.

Hi. Remember when searching for satellites make sure that you have correct and up to date frequencies in your TRANSPONDER menu for the satellites you are looking for. Also are you using USALS?? If using DISQC (or 1.2) you need to move the dish manually to each satellite you want and when signal is good you save the positions for each satellite. As mentioned already you are better of using USALS as it will go near each satellite after the first satellite has been set up by yourself. Regards.

thank you nutsandbolts this helped me out, is there a quick way to add the transponders to my box and how do i know if there the only ones. Like i said i'm a newbie to all this and every day somethin new throws it self at me, what are USALS etc i havent altered mine from the original 0000e and 51500 north does that sound right?

I managed to find some new transponders for 30w but i'm still showing that i should be recieving signals for certain canal channels which i know are i dont get yet my signal strength is 20 over 18 etc do i need to delete these or should i be getting signal with scrambled message etc

Thanks again i've managed to get a lock on the sat and that was my main objective. suppose i'll have to do the same for all my west sats now it started out as something to catch the footy on now i'm finding myself more and more into just getting signals etc

need to know your location to say what your co-ordinates should be.you can do this yourself via Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com or PM your location and I"ll send them to you. I take you are motorised and not using a multi LNB set up?if you are using a motor once you have your correct co-ordinates set them in the box and the latitude on the motor(this should already be set) NOTE if this is a 1st usals set up the motor/dish assembly will have to be aligned to suit.I"d suggest sending the dish to a satellite you now get ok then put your location long/lat in change to Usals and send the dish to the same sat,you will then have to loosen the bracket holding the motor to the mounting pole just enough to be able to move it and turn it slowly left/right to get max signal again.forget trying to find any sats west of 30W but you should get that loud and clear.
if you are unsure about what you are doing ask again

Hi. For USALS in the UK it should always be set as West and North ( for the northern hemisphere). The longitude should be West(W) and latitude should be North(N). For London it is 00.1W 51.5N. The W and N are used by the motor software to know which way is east and west for the satellites. Regards.

those that live in essex, suffolk, norfolk, kent etc are all east of the meridian so might disagree

thanksfor your comments above, i still need to get 30w etc and i've done slow tune on box (dish basically upside down at points ) and its just not locking onto various different satelites. I now know what site to download the transponders from but the guide i followed to add multiple transponders and sats at the same time. i use DCC which is dreambox control centre but the reciever and the box dont seem to link via the ftp or when they do and i search for channels on 30w they still not adding. i find myself spending many a morning/night just lookinf for 30w, i dont even think theres that much on there but because my mate recieves the signal with same setup i want it any help or guide i'll try.

Dickb unfortunately i cant loosen my bracket on my dish etc just because if try it'll probably fall and break as thats generally my luck or i'll fall from the ladder

haven't got anything in the way at 30w have you.?.. [send it to 30w & look where it's aiming]

If your're not happy going up a ladder - you can fool any motor in USALS to move all sats a bit east or a bit west to correct outage [it's a bodge really but it works] by altering the [your] longitude setting in the receiver say 0.1..0.5. 1.0 degree either east [to shift all sats to the west (the other way)] or west to shift them east to help correct small outage [use a sat you are getting until it peaks out & keep a note of your real longitude] -

it could be your motor is out in other ways though - that wont help as much there.
