pedro thanks for that i will try that but i just need something clearing up at the minute. i've done a search for my long and lat etc and my longitude is a saying -2.198 does that mean i change it from east to west with it being a minus ? or do i just add the 2.198 as normal?

Dickb unfortunately i cant loosen my bracket on my dish etc just because if try it'll probably fall and break as thats generally my luck or i'll fall from the ladder [/QUOTE]

yeah I understand your problem I only install my dishes where I can get at them from a step ladder. BUT if the initial install was not done accurately you will not track the satellite arc and never get all the receivable sats from say 30West to 53East at the same time.you will probably just get a section of the arc with signal trailing off the further you go from the sat it was set up on.

-2.198 is the same as 2.198 west - just drop the - & set to west [unless the image wants it in that format] ...

Before you try to tweak it - make sure that's all OK & it wasn't just that ...

then if it's still out ... go to 1w bbcworld .. note the meter reading ... change your longitude to 1.2 west .. & check the meter on bbcworld ... if it goes up you are going in the right direction .. try 0.2 west .. etc.. & you can fine tune it by 0.1 increments to max it out [0.3 0.4 0.5 etc. etc.]

if it went down try 3.2 west .. if that goes up then try 4.2 west .. etc..

if it drops on both east & west shifts try smaller moves [0.1 not 1.0]..

if it still doesn't fix it .. you have another problem or it's too far out.

Thanks for that pedro, still no luck with it. i've got 2 ways now to try and fix get a satelitte fitter out or wait til i get chance to call at my mates round corner and try and tune my box on his dish and hopefully that will bring my settings right as i know he gets 30w etc

Regardless i'm just gonna keep trying i have lost all my west sats now from 4w -30w

Did you try that quick guide I posted in #10 if you make sure your mounting pole is 100% plumb and your dish is 100% central on the motor spigot before starting you should be ok (line of sight permitting.
If the motor/dish was set up only for diseqc 1.2 by the fitter it will need realigning for usals.this other guide I"m sending is for std technomates but the principle is the same.

i would say that my dish isn't aligned plumb, looks like i've gotta get someone out to realign it in the near future. Funny though i might get this done for free as the council regenerating my estate. and replacing the pebbledash etc which means they have to take my dish off the wall. so gonna hang fire til then. do you know what my signal etc should be on 30w should it be strong?

Hi nimbers. A couple of points for you to note.
                        a) if you need to change your longitude from east to west the way i do it on my TM5400 is i place the remote cursor on the E and press enter. This will change the E to W.
                        b) Regarding the west satellites, if you are getting the east satellites and not the west usually its because your dish is too low. Remember east satellites are low and west are high.If you watch the way the motor moves the dish you will see this in action. Also for some satellites like HELLASAT 39 east the dish needs to be tilted - again the motor will do this for you as it is calibrated to do so. If you are happy with east satellites then do the following:
                        c) Move the dish to 5 west. When motor stops check for signal via signal meter or channel like TMC. TP for this channel is 11.553V s/r 30000. If you dont get a signal or picture then try to move the motor tail up slightly by unscrewing the two motor bolts and pushing the tail up. Do not loosen the dish from the motor tail otherwise you will lose your east sats. Remember if your dish is too low or high
changing settings will not help, you need to change the dish height. Take care.

mounting pole MUST be 100% plumb and dish MUST be 100% central on the motor spigot to track the arc. 30West is good and strong,
I doubt the council will align a motorised setup for you.

thanks for strong tps i'm just running threw them at the minute. Hopefully the council will at least set the dish to 28.2e as they have told residents that they gonna get fitter out for the sky dishes etc so i'll speak to the guy who reinstalls them about it being plumb and getting the 30w etc. if not i'll be looking for a local installer

just followed your step C) i get Tmc with 83% over 76% signal so assume thats a decent west sat. My TP for that was slightly out so changed it from 11.554 v 29990 just the slight change in TP but its given me 5.0w at least.

I've gonna add the other TPS added by Dickb and just move 1sat west at a time
