Hi nimbers. Glad you followed my advice to get 5 west. To add tp's just do a blind scan on 5 west (or any other satellites for that matter). You should be able to get the other west satellites with a slight adjustment of the dish if required. At this point i would make a mark on the motor tail, with a felt pen, so that you can return to that mark for 5 west in case you lose the signal. Take care.

cant get anything west of 5 m8 but i goona wait til the council finished there rendering etc and then i hope they reinstall it good or i'll just do extra days work to pay for it. no point paying at the min as it might get done by the council or the clipboard brigade might not do it right and i'll be back here again.

i only ever bought this set up for footy on sat 3pm but its bcome a hobby. i need a better reciever but that coupled with not getting signal on certain sats etc i want the sat aligned rite even if my cline doesn't recieve the channels on west i just wont a signal.

Hi nimbers. Of course if you go up a ladder you should always think of your safety first like anyone else. My advice is if you feel that you cant do it then obviously dont. How high do you have to go?? Regards.

thanks for strong tps i'm just running threw them at the minute. Hopefully the council will at least set the dish to 28.2e as they have told residents that they gonna get fitter out for the sky dishes etc so i'll speak to the guy who reinstalls them about it being plumb and getting the 30w etc. if not i'll be looking for a local installer

send the dish to 28E via usals before they refit/align your dish then if they have put the mounting pole back plumb and your dish is central on the motor spigot the other sats should fall into place just make sure your correct lat/long are in the box 1st and the correct lat is set on motor.
if your pole is out of true or the dish is not central you will still be able to align the dish for individual satelites but thats no good as that will be the only sat you can get.

Oh.. you've remembered now he didn't want to go up a ladder ..which is why I gave him a very clever trick to try with USALS until he got it sorted properly ...

Dear pedro you really are a **** as i thought. If you read the comments properly you would have realised that your so called USALS trick did NOT actually help nimbers to find 5 west. Like i said you should have advised him to move the dish up slightly which he did and found 5 west. Regarding the ladder comments it is aimed at ,as i pointed out, to anyone in general. SPECSAVERS at the moment have got great bargains. Take care.

just followed your step C) i get Tmc with 83% over 76% signal so assume thats a decent west sat. My TP for that was slightly out so changed it from 11.554 v 29990 just the slight change in TP but its given me 5.0w at least.

I've gonna add the other TPS added by Dickb and just move 1sat west at a time
