    Questions re Tm5402

    hi all,

Been doing some research on a dvbs open platform type receiver and have ended up closing in on the 5402, main reason I guess is price! Seems very cheap comparing to something like the dream box 500hd.

Main reason for purchase was to view european feeds as well as uk using cardsharealong with hd and the ability to record via pvr.

Im in IT by trade so know my way around linux which is why dream box tempted me but the price is prohibitive for what my original aims are in which to dabble in this first.

Cut to the chase will the technomate do all the above as well as the dream box but I guess with less flexibility? For example I take it using card sharing is a connection string you made need to modify accordingly to your receiver I guess?

    Thoughts input. Most appreciated.

I might be wrong but i don't think the TM5402 can share easily if at all.

But it's a good box for "receiving" stuff & is very easy to set up with motorised dish.

You could have perhaps got yourself a clone Dreambox 800 HD or even Se for around the same price or a little bit more
which would have given you the full range of sharing option both receiving & sending.

I dont believe you can share from a tm5402 either
obviously you can receive cs from another receiver that does allow it like a dreambox
