Connect Receiver & turn it on

Hi,

My laptop is playing up so ive gone back to my desktop for time being.

Trying to load latest softcam via RS232/USB lead via my desktop and am finding unable to find COM port on the DM loader.

Never had this problem with the laptop,only getting "Connect Receiver & turn it on message " I,ve plugged a mouse into the same port and that works.

Any ideas,

usually its a null modem cable you use to flash boxes,usb adapters are hit and miss,needing drivers to load firmware,pc running xp,vista or windows 7?

Sorted it now thanks was joining two cables together not ideal now using rs232 male to female
