technomate tm-5400 cl+ usb super "question"

Hi, well i have a dreambox 800hd and now i want to buy a technomate tm-5400 cl which i have seen going cheap and it would make a good starting point and i really do not know how the setup works on these. I have ccam setup on my dm800 with clines but will i be able to use the same setup on the tm-5400cl+ usb. I know these take cards the same as the dm800 but i do not use that route and hope the same applies as the tm5400cl. could someone help me here. thanks

forget the 5400 if you want to go technomate route go for the Tm5402HD
Support is better for the dreamboxes then the tm's

Hi thijs, thanks for the advise. i was under the impression that tm were easier to use and more reputable. I jumped in the deep end with a dreambox as a newbie a year ago and i must admit i am still learning something new all the time. thought i would give the technomate a go as a second box for the kids room (my excuse to the wife) and see what i have been told i am missing. Do i stick with the software i have and build on that or do i try something new to learn more. must look into this a bit more as dreambox has turned into sunray and do not know where this is going. Thanks for now.

technomate would be easier to use and setup
but you would be stuck with the patch that would be availble
if there is something you don't like on it the chances of ever seeing it changed are slim to none.
But on the dreamboxes you have a choice of images and plugins
and extensions wich you will not have on the tm non linux.
If you are looking for an easy box as an extra client only and not to fussed about images/plugins or extensions then the tm 5402 is a good box.

Thanks for the reply thijs, think i will look into this a bit more and do some research. There are a wide range of boxes to choose from but thought with tm being an established business that they would have all the support needed. all in all this has been good advise and worth researching. thanks mate.
