Techomate 5600 CI USB Super - help with softcam - 19.2e - ESPN America

Finally I have put my dish (Ross 65cm) on a tripod and have managed to find the 19.2e signal (for some reason the Technomate 5600 CI Super thinks it is the BADR satellite at 26.0e). I checked the channels and they are German, e.g. WDR Fernsehen Koln is only available on 19.2e. I previously had planned a multi-lnb setup but given my difficulties (could not find hotbird) I think I will stick with 19.2e for now, http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...advice-195006/

I want to receive ESPN America (and hopefully more), I hope that it is still possible on 19.2e ? before it was recommended that I should try 9.0e.

mdt previously kindly linked to the appropriate software for my receiver, I have gone to the download centre and found Phantompatch-TM5400CI_5600CI_SUPER_156p_09-03-2012.stb & 3_SoftcamAll.rar ? I trust that these are appropriate for my receiver and they are the latest versions available. Please can anyone advise if there are any other appropriate files? How do you enter the BISS key (I know it isn't appropriate for 19.2e but just want to know)?

As for the correct newest software for my receiver Technomate website, there seems to be a choice of - TM5400CI_5600CI_SUPER_123.zip and TM5400CI_5600CI_134.zip - Am I assume that I should use the first one, my receiver has the USB on the back.

Does it matter that the receiver thinks that 19.2e is 26.0e?

    Is this the correct procedure?

    1. Save the existing channel list to USB stick
    2. Factory Reset
    3. Load latest official Technomate software
    4. Factory Reset
    5. Load Phantompatch
    6. Factory Reset
    7. Load Softcam
    8. Factory Reset
    9. Upload previously saved channel list
    10. Do a new channel scan
    11. Pray that all the previous is done correctly and wait for channels to clear

Sorry for all these questions, i am not good with technology. I have waited a year to get the dish up , (was let down by my builder who going to install dish).

Any advice gratefully received. Thank you.

if your sure that your on 19.2 the tm should be able to scan for all channels on astra 19.2 east so delete everything on 26 e
and goto the 19.2 sat in the list and do a network scan there
go through the transponder list of 19.2 and make sure some of them have signal and quality of at least 50-55% would be better around 70-80% also look for transponder 12662 H 22000 fec 5/6 this is where ESPN America should be once have this sat scanned you have to make sure you have loaded the latest softcam from Softcam Keys
once you are sure you are on 19.2 you might be able to find more channels open on 19.2 with latest softcam
let us know how your getting on

to enter Biss keys on patched TM,go to channel wanted and type 8280 on H/set.scroll down to either 1st line (or empty line if some biss keys are already loaded) type in 1st 8 pairs of digits followed by 8 pairs of zeros, these will change to a repeat of the 1st 16 digits on exit.you will find a list of Biss keys if you open the softcam by a right mouse click and scrolling to open with "notepad"but heres a copy already opened the Biss keys are after the softcam keys.not all will work but I use them on 10E to open the MGM channel.

if you want to try this channel list it might help as most of what opens with softcam on 19E are near the top.the 1st 5 channel are FTA the next 17 are ORF the next 20 are cn/digitaal (but een & ketnet dont open).the next 16 are canalsat including ESPN America at no 58,the next 10 are TNT sat.these all open fine on a TM5400 but it will depend on your patch what opens on your box but the list is compatable.no need to re-scan after loading the list unless there are channels missing you want.
there is a newer patch out 157p BUT it doesnt open cn/digitaal on my box so I"d stay with 156P

Thanks very much for the help so far.

I have deleted the 26.0e saved channels, ran a scan on the real 19.2e frequency - I got 800+ tv channels, it just so happened that the first transponder on the list under 19.2e (10773-H) showed as red and not the usual yellow/blue indicating you had found something. Learnt something new there.

My minimum strength on the available transponders are 53% but most are between 58%-75%. I can confirm I have got ESPN America on 12662.

Looks like that I am ready to really (finally) tinker with the box, I just want to confirm some things first.

Is it essential to update to the latest offical Technomate patch? My current software is from August 2010 (version 1.16).

I am a little confused with channel lists, can I have two channel lists? I would like to try dick b's list but I am confused as what happens to the FTA channels on 19.2e?

Are the softcam key files interchangeable? That is I presume thijs and dick b have linked to files which are very similar.

Is doing things in this order ok, (factory resetting after each step)?

        1. Save currently scanned 19.2e channels to USB stick
        2. Update my box to the latest official Technomate software
        3. Load Phantompatch
        4. Load Softcam
        5. Upload dick b's channel list

it's usually best to have latest patch on your tm but i don't have your model so i can't confirm what's open with latest patch and softcamkey(always use the latest softcam key they are not interchangeble)
try the latest patch yourself and see what it opens for you on 19.2 should be a good bit anyway.
          patch found here Download center

recommended way to put on would be
1)backup channel list to usb device
          2)fac. reset
3)put on latest original firmware (found here Technomate software online)
          4)fac.reset
5)put back your channellist(or someone elses)
          6)rescan sat in use
7)put on latest softcam (found in Softcam Keys)
you don't have to do a fac.reset everytime you load the latest softcam to your tm or if you want to try a different channellist only if you are upgrading/downgrading your firmware/patch it's recommended.
          Hope this helps

if you carry out thijs instructions you will not go wrong.
but to be honest I only ever do a factory reset if something goes wrong and cant remember when I last put official firmware in.I just put patches in as wanted they overwrite whats already in there and you can put the previous one back in if its not what you expected. Its the same with softcams they just over write the previous one. With the channel list I posted its a personal preference one that has a lot of stuff deleted but has all the 19E channels that I think you want try it then put latest softcam in and all I listed should open if you dont like the list simply put yours back (dont forget to save it 1st) it will overwrite just like the other files. there is no point in scanning before you put a channel list in as all channels will be overwritten.
so my lazy mans way of doing it is.
            (1)save your current channel list
            (2) load patch 156p
            (3) load channel list
            (4) load latest softcam(it must be latest as they can go out of date quickly)

unless a patch has an update you need/want you dont have to put the latest one in.

Thanks to everyone gave me advice. I have (touch wood) got my box working.

For anyone else in a similar position here is what I did:

                1. Saved the scanned 19.2e channels to USB
                2. Factory Reset
                3. Loaded original Technomate firmware from thijs' 2nd post - I was a bit apprehensive here because the link lead to 116 orig.stb whereas on technomate.com it was 123.stb - dick b suggested to follow thijs and I did
                4. Factory Reset
                5. Loaded patch 156p
                6. Loaded dick b's channel list .... thought I had done something wrong when the first channel was BBC 1 - then I saw the whole list of satellites and chose 19.2e and felt relieved when BBC World came on
                7. Loaded the 29/03/12 SoftcamAll.rar from thijs' link

I assumed the box would reboot and didn't I checked VH1 Classic and ESPN America and they worked!

Before loading the channel list (dick b's) it gave me a choice of Default DB and Normal DB, I chose Normal as that was highlighted, was that the right thing to do?

For the channels to keep clearing, must I update to the latest softcam keys on every update that I see on http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f120/ ? It seems like there are 5/6/7 updates per month on average?

How will I know that I need to apply a new patch? For example for my box 157p is out, some channels are not yet working - yet were it not for dick b's advice I could have loaded 157p, followed the right procedures and have the channels not working?!

Is 19.2e the best place for a patched receiver to be pointed at? Am I right in saying the only other satellites with multiple channels are 4.8e and 39.0e?

i think most is open on 19.2 east but it might be a different story again next month and open channels by keys will slowly be finished ,always try load latest softcam to keep channels open
and if new providers get opened wich is getting less and less you more then likely will need a new patch
if you okay on default when loading a channellist this will be your new default list in the tm's memoryflash

yeah as thijs has said you need to keep uptodate with the softcams in particular the ones that say"cn/digitaal" updated if you are set on 19.2E. but there is no need to go through the whole exercise just load the softcam.these boxes a pretty bullet proof and it takes a lot to mess one up I havent managed it(yet)

Hi. As dick b says it is pointless doing factory resets. The factory resets are not very kind to motorize users. They can cause a lot of grief. They should in my opinion only be done if you have messed up everything and want to start from scratch. With regards to softcams remember also that you can enter the keys manually via the SYSTEM INFORMATION menu and selecting the CAS or BISS option. Regards.

Always do factory reset to clear out crap when loading new patches.
Just reload channel list and usals settings.
                        Takes very short time.

Hi. Its not the USALS setting thats the problem it is to do with 1.2 settings. From my experience patches on the TM's never go wrong. Take care.
