I'm looking for an external HDD for my 5200, preferably one not requiring a separate power cable, i.e. one powered through the USB port on the back of the 5200. Will the 5200's USB port sufficiently power any HDDs that say powered via USB, or might there be a difference between the satellite box and the PCs for which these drives were originally intended?
Can anyone out there with a working, USB powered, external HDD hooked up to their 5200 (or other) let me know which one they've got and any comments on its performance, particularly operating noise?
Has anyone made use of the new generation USB memory sticks, some up to 32Gb, but they'll probably be up to 64 by the time I've finished typing this. Technology, eh?
Thanks in advance.
