Help please before i smash my 1500

Just bought off of ebay (i know i know why god did i do it). Anyway I cannot get the damn thing to load a patch. I have tried using my laptop, with usb adaptor and all i get it "connect receiever and switch on box...... and then nothing happens.

I have also tried going straight to my desktop computer to the receiver and I still get the same message.

Only once have i managed to get anything different and that was on auto detect when it told me it had detected 2.31 software.

I have a null modem cable and have metered out the connections to make sure that it is what it says it is on the packet.

Does it sound like I have been sold a pup or am i missing something simple? I've spent hours banging my head agaiint the wall so any help would be very much appreciated.

Yep read and tried i'm afraid, not matter what i do it just doesn't want to talk to either of my computers. It always hangs on this "connect reciever" message, i'll keep trying but i am starting to wonder if they sold it for a reason

I'm going to get another null modem cable in the morning from maplin and see if that makes any difference as it seems these things can be hit and miss

No need to spend more money. Reloaded the drivers for my usb adaptor and it worked, nearly a heart attack after five solid hours of screaming at it. Still not sure why I didnt work straight from my desktop pc but its working from the laptop now so thats good enough.
