Technomate 500HD - Linux. Time to play

    Evening,

Looking for a bit of advice. I now own a 500HD and I'm looking to personalise it how I wish. Firstly I'd like to install WebMedia (Or anything that allows YouTube etc), I'd be keen to get a Web Browser too, iPlayer, ITVPlayer etc.

I got a Linux box specifically to do that sort of stuff but am having a bit of a nightmare to date. I'm completely new to this an I'm getting all sorts of errors when I try and install stuff.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

First of all not the best receiver to jump into the world of linux, your hard earned would have been better spent on a DM800se, Vu Uno, Gigablue etc.. at least these have a lot of support the Technomates i am afraid do not.

Your question about the iPlayer and ITVPlayer sorry will not work as they are intended to do on something like an original Freesat receiver or even a Smart TV, You can pick up the feeds but not how you would want them as in you have no control over them.
