tm-500 super has password on ftp and tuxbox

I have a friend that recently bought two tm-500 super from a guy for ?1800 he was told that he wouldnt have to pay again. One of the boxes has went down and he has contacted them but they have asked for another ?500 to fix it (rip off). I have tried to get the into the ftp to get the c line but it has a password. I have also tried tuxbox but it also has a password can anyone help. Im new to this.

If its just a pin your after try 0000 as that is default for technomates, but i doubt I'll get much help on here regarding clines.

0000 is not the default on linux receivers.

if you can not install or access tuxbox commander your only option is to reflash it and losing the cfg file. Expensive lesson to learn. No such thing as plug n play, do your research before crossing someone's palms with silver.

Your mate must have more money than sense he paid ?1800 for 2 boxes worth ?70 each,tell him to do a bit of homework if he has to buy a preconfigured box.............

I had one the same m8 got burnt with it,had to wipe it start again the fella wouldnt give me the password either.............

Does anyone know how to change default 4 digit pass on tm500 boxes..its currently set to 0000
