Anyone else come across this, it has happened on a few occasion in last 12 months, where you are watching a channel, not necessarily an encrypted channel, has occurred while watching ITV also and picture just freezes, box then becomes non responsive and only way to get it going again is to switch off at mains and restart. In the past I was putting it down to a minor software glitch as it could be weeks if not months between each occurrence, however it has happened to me 3 times so far this morning alone. I'm using firmware 1.20 for what it's worth.

You are the third person to report this in the last few weeks. I know the reason for mine locking up was whether watching ecrypted channels or not if there was a problem with my internet connection so speak the box would freeze and multiple button pressing by the missus would then lock it up, but as you say it has been very random however I had no problems since. I was warned my connection was going to a bit flaky due to maintenance. You may not have been told -

noticed same thing tonight , s*y s***s 1 hd , had to switch off & on three times in half an hour , i havn't changed anything on box for two monthsComment

what patch are you using ?
Maybe change to 117 to see if it makes a difference.

I carried out a full factory reset, followed by original firmware, then 1.20 software again, reapplied the add-on and my channel list and it hasn't happened again, mind you, prior to the three times it happened me on Sunday, it hadn't happened in months, so I've no idea if that actually fixed it for me.Comment

tried 117p but you tube doesnt play any videos with that (which is why i upgraded to 120p) so i think 120p is the only way to go

ok some more info.....I may have found a reason for these lockups but it may just be coincedence....The lockups on my box were getting almost daily but another slight issue being changed has led to a freeze free day..I have found there to be a slight issue with the n protocol and by changing to the c protocol it appears to have stopped all lockup issuesComment

my box had barely locked up in 2 months since i got it but today it did it four times in the space of an afternoon.
I was running version 123 so have now installed 117, but have noticed theres now a version 124, anyone used this?Comment

my stable server uses the n protocol , & not so stable server (abit glitchy) uses cccam , i have turned off the stable one (n protocol) & the box hasn't froze yet , but it allways happens to me on S*y S***ts HD , so do we need a new add on ?
note : box has just froze on c protocol

As well as the protocol another additional problem may be that a memory dump isn't being performed often enough when viewing hd channels, resulting in low system memory and the cpu heating up causing the lockup. I haven't checked if a thermal pad is being used or if it's paste. You will get the later patches from the tm download centre. I don't have a link to hand on my phone sorry.Comment
