    tm5402 streaming from pc

    does anyone know what are the file specs which work 100% with streaming from pc as I stream movies i downloaded to a tv in another room through the box & sometimes i dont get audio & sometimes i get nothing but sometimes works perfectly with apparently similar file types , some wmv files work & some dont likewise xvid avi's & mkv's & mpegs

    The problem you are having is that daemon stb if that's what your using to stream combined with the 5402 cannot play ac3 audio or anything that has cinavia. Cinavia will stop everything and ac3 audio will stop audio only. To make sure the files play they will need mp3 audio or for the ones that don't play at all you may need to reconvert them into avi with mp3 audio which is more bother than it's worth. You would be better of buying a small media player cyclone mini's are only about 20 quid and will play anything you throw at them, not sure if the cheapest ones have ethernet port though to allow streaming. That is just my findings from personal experience with this box and daemon.
    Hope it helps you understand why some files play and some don't even though on the surface they appear to be the same format. I f you get the file properties up you should see what I mean.
