Number of LNBs with a 6900

From the manual (nuff said) it appears that a 6900 can only control a diseqc switch to operate 4 lnbs, but what I am wondering is if more than this is possible?

I've found details on diseqc 1.1 non committed switches, which would allow you to control two 4 way diseqc switches, giving you the possibility to have 8 lnbs.

Does anyone have any experience with non committed switches or knowledge on operating more than 4 lnbs directly from the 6900?

    Thanks

    John

You will need a diseqc switch mate unfortunately

Read the Rules here; they apply to Everyone.

I have looked at that, but positioning it for a clear view was impossible, due to a mixture of house position, space in back garden etc. The dish ready sits on a 2m pole to give it the clearance (real fun when its windy), but does have the space at the top to take another dish to cover thor at 1w. If I did that I would be able to cover the max clear view area of 1w to about 30E.

I have found a 8 way switch at SatEuropa which might solve the problem SatEuropa.co.uk: EMP-Centauri DiSEqC 8/1

It does seem easy to operate, so I'll let you know once I have played with it.
