TM-5200D USB Died after completing software 1.36 upgrade

My TM-5200D USB unit just died on completing the update of the software to version 1.36 (downloaded from technomate web site, unzipped and put on USB stick). Afer reaching 100% it switched itsef off but never came to life again.

When switching the off/on button at the back, the LED display on the front flashes dash characters and goes dead.

Any reason why this happened? The version of the software that was on the box before was dated 2008. The new software is March 2012.

Also could someone tell me the difference between TM-5200D USB and TM-5200D USB Super? I don't have the word Super anywhere on the box which I presume my box is Non Super version. Is there a way to confirm that?

I"ve just posted forced download instructions in the "help help help" thread try that.and as far as Iknow the non super has the usb port on the front panel.
a patch for the NON super is also there

Thanks Dick. Have now fixed the problem with USB-COM converter cable from Maplin, null RS232 cable from an Amazon reseller and the TM Loader. Had difficulties first with a USB-COM cable from an Amazon reseller as the PC I used could not find a windows XP driver for it and had to return it and buy the much more expensive product from Maplin. That worked straight away and the TM-5200D USB box is now working again !!

more expensive?do you mean a null modem cable that is only around a fiver or so.

no I dont think the op had an rs232 port on the computer so had to buy a usb to rs232 converter.
