    Signal fluctuation on tm 5200

    I recently conncted back up my tm 5200 looped through to my dm 500s, which is connected to vbox and 1.2 channel master, feedhorn, inverto lnb.

    When say on 28.2e i get good quality readings on a good few tps of 98% and the lowest being about 70%, which i thought would be more using a 1.2 cm.

    On some of the tps which i get 98% quality, i get fluctuation from 98-80, when i slightly move the dish i get 98% with no fluctuation, but then other tps drop to 88% which were 98%.

    When using my dreambox i get snr of 94% - 99 on 28.2e with no problems at all. same with protek 9600.

    if the different quality reading are from different TP polarities it could be your lnb is not at "0" skew,but on screen stb meters vary so much its difficult to compare readings from them and most of us do get these slight anomalies.
    are you getting picture probs on any sat?pixillation etc;
    I get 98% quality on one box(TM 5400) and 84% on a TM6800,same channel same dish.

      I get no pixilation at all, but the cm feedhorn is skewed the slightest bit, i know on a motorized sat it should be at 0, but by doing this i gained a bit more snr on some tp's on 39e on my dm500, which does not drop any snr on any other sat, as i have tested this out.

      But what works for the dm 500 may not work for the tm 5200
      I suppose i just expect to get the same readings on all receivers, but as you get 2 different readings on your receivers every receiver is different.

        it all sounds ok to me,and you seem to have it setup as you like it,both boxes will be recieving the same but will proccess it slightly differently.I can just get some 7west TPs 12.168 V 27500 being the strongest.reception varies daytoday.but this morning on a TM6800 at 50% quality picture is stable(no pixillation) but on an old TM1000d picture is unwatchable with heavy pixillation even though the unscreen meter shows 63% quality.
