Hi. what patch, if any, are you using?? If using a patch try to disable it by using 2004 on remote in SYSTEM INFORMATION menu. Then see if CAM works. Also is CAM compatible with the TM5400??. Are you getting NO SIGNAL or SCRAMBLED CHANNEL messages?? have you tried to insert the card in the card slot to see if it works.??

Hi. Did you try to disable the patch just to see. Also after you have inserted the CAM look in the menu and tab down to COMMON INTERFACE and see if its reading the CAM type ie CONAX, IRDETO etc. If it still says SLOT #1 then its not reading the CAM. Are you getting the message CAM INITIALIZING when you insert the CAM?.

Stop using Caps locks, it's deemed as shouting.

            Still no luck

Have disabled patch and it does say cam initializing and shows the cam in the ci menu but still no signal with it in it looks as if the receiver has a fault but its only two years old.I wonder if turning the mains of for time may reboot it?

Hi. I dont think turning mains off is going to cure the problem. I am wondering if you have wire shorting out somewhere. Has the cam ever worked on this receiver?? Also have you tried the cam in a different receiver.? From my experience the TM5400 are very reliable If its out of warranty i suppose you could always open it to see if any liquid may have been accidently spilled in to it - very unlikely but i have seen it happen before. If you enable the patch do you still get the cam initializing message??. If you dont then problem lies with the patch.
              Regards.

if you can use the card in the reader then just assume the box is faulty and get yourself a HD one when funds allow, regards mdt

Hi. I find it very strange that a box in a cabinet which was working fine all of a sudden has a fault with it. Have you tried to insert the cam without the card?

In my opinion you have 3 options:
                    1) get the original patch from the TM website. May not work but might be worth a try.

                    2) Try the cam in another receiver to see if it works.

                    3) Take cam to a local satellite shop for testing.

Do you use softcams in your box and if so are the channels opening ok??

                    Regards.

A little late to the party here but if the Cam is causing problems and you are using an official viewing card inside the cam to watch channels why not try it in the card reader as when the TM's are patched either Officially or Unofficially the card reader becomes Multicrypt and should read a vast amount of cards from different encryptions.

                        Regards
