1. TM5402: plenty of support especially on here from owners especially channel lists for fixed and for motorised and there is also various channel editors.
2. TM5302: again plenty of support from phantom but what really lets this box down is there are no available channel editors, One thing it does have over the 5402 is downloadable channel lists from the server when patched. The 5302 can do everything the 5402 can do but at a cheaper price, Like i said its just let down by the lack of channel lists and an editor.
3. TM800: dont go there its a dead donkey Zero support anymore what was the IQ team jumped ship onto the more supported broadcom based TM-Twin.
although the tm800 has been a fiasco from start to finsh if you just want to shove a card or sea-lion in it and watch tv then it will do a job and has a excellent pq although i wouldnt buy one personally. the tm5402hd is a popular box with good support and the tm5302hd is a cut down version but doesnt have the support the 5402hd has, regards mdt
The 5302 is based on the 3000 series and has always had poor support.
Why save a tenner against the 5402 and get all the head aches.
Manic i think the only problem with this receiver is the lack of a channel editor and its only the menu structure thats based on the 3000 the tuner is as good as the 5402 i cant tell them apart in tests.
Not sure about the tenner difference but trade price which is different is quite a bit more.
Cheep and cheerful on a budget you cant beat the Skybox F3 but sadly lacks an Optical out for audio, Just curious in this day and age of HDMI do people still use Optical for audio as most A/V amps these days are all HDMI
im wondering why your mate recommended this box when there are other twin tuners to be had for cheaper?
Fave replies from various threads
1: What the fff is all that about??? All that crap below your reply I mean, get a life mate 2: no info on google abt the pace sv5 rang asda they have no idea what i was talking about, 3: Your total contribution to this forum, bordering on trolling, seems to have been a collection of snipes, one liners & asterisked expletives
He said the amiko alien aswell which was cheaper, don't know if its just the boxes he works with. Anyway i'm doing my research and i'm aware of this now
