    Advice-New TM 5402 M2

    Hi

I see that there is a updated TM5402 designated M2 and apparently the software is not compatible with the previous model. Do I buy the previous model or am I better off waiting a few weeks until the bugs are ironed out. Please advise.

Hi. I had a TM5400 SUPER and then changed it for the new TM5400 M2 version which in my opnion was a waste of money. You will need to use different patches for the M2. If you are happy with your present receiver then dont change it yet. I sold my M2 last week and now have a 5402 HD.

    Regards.

      Hi Nutsandbolts

      Thanx for the reply.

I think I will take your advice and wait before buying. I do want a TM5402 but I assume the TM5402 mk1 will be phased out, will this mean that patches will be available for the original and M2 STB?

      Regards

Patches are already available for the M2 model and it is backwards compatible with channel lists from the 5402 really cant see a problem

          Hi digicon

Thank you, I will get an 5402 M2 now instead of waiting. I'm really impressed that patches can be produced that fast. TM only announced the M2 launch 3 days ago.

          regards

the difference between the TM5402HD and the TM5402HD-M2 is some security hardware, other than that, theyre identical
