Bad signal - should I leave it?

    Hi

i have a technomate 5402 and a 80cm motorised dish which has been working fine for 12 months. Today I got bad signal and couldn't pick up astra2 at all, signal 30%. I can get hotbrid however.

it has snowed today (Coventry) so I am weighing up do I mess with retuning dish or wait until snow clears in next few days. I have stored positions in the memory.

It snowed more heavily a few weeks back and no issue - it could be an issue with motor I guess - what do you think?

yeah sounds like the dish/motor have moved a bit I"d nudge the dish E/W til you get max signal via the box and as you are using diseqc 1.2 just store the new position til the weather improves.
when you do realign the dish why dont you use usals?it is so much easier than diseqc 1.2,align your target sat properly and all the rest fall into place.

it will work with the box and should work with any modern motor, what make is it? it wont say its a usals motor due to patents.but will say has "goto X" function or diseqc 1.3.

STAB motors do have the USALS Logo branding on there products as they paid the license to use it from Eutelsat, but as you rightly pointed out others go by the GotoX, Diseqc 1.3.
