Tm 5402 tp issue

Hi I'm in Austria using 1.5 dish on tm5402. When I do blind scan on 28.2 Astra it only picks up 50% channels. No transponders between 11.600 and 12.300 missing so I don't get any sky movies or sky sports 3, 4 or espn. I can get sky sports 1,2 Atlantic living and NBC and itv. Please help I'm lost. My dish is not motorised . Signal strength on sky 1 is 65%. Any help appreciated! Tx

you should still be able to pick up that frequency range as most are still on Astra 2A and Eutalsat 28A, have you tried one of the pre-configured lists like from happy highlander and see if that picks up the missing TP's

Hi. If after doing a blind scan you have channels missing it usually indicates one of the following:
1) Dish is out of alignment
2) Dish to small
3) Obstruction blocking a signal
4) Satellite may not transmit to your area .

I suspect your problem may be to do with alignment. Dish may need slight adjustment.

Try manualy entering the TP data in installation . unless you have the latest software the 5402 + is something of a problem in blind scan mode....otherwise a good machine.

Hi. No point in adding a TP manually if the blind scan cannot find it then neither will the manual scan. Before doing any scan you need to make sure dish alignment is correct otherwise you wont find anything. In my opinion a blind scan is the best option as it will scan the whole satellite and also tell you if dish alignment is correct by number of channels it finds.

tx for replys..loaded latest 128 p firmware..still same problem...sky sports 1, 2 no 3,4 news espn gone now and manually tried transponder scan for movies....signal in red 30% picks up nothing! frustrating as dish is 1.5 and set correctly for 28.2 astra!! pleeeeese any wizards out there

Hi. Thats the point i made ie if your dish cannot lock on to a signal then it makes no difference if you do a blind scan or manual scan. Also if sat has over 100 TP's you cannot enter them all manually..thats why its best to do a blind scan.

I have just done a blind scan on 28.2( i deleted all TP's before the scan). Results are as follows:
1) Found 91 TP's. Number of channels found is 835.
2) Sky Sports 1-4 HD frequency 11739V s/r 29500
3)ESPN 12285V s/r 27500. ESPN HD 12324V s/r 29500

From what i can see it appears all channels have been tuned in. Why dont you try and do what i did ie delete all TP's then run a blind scan and see how many TP's it tunes in. Also make sure you get channels in both vertical and horizontal mode. I still think you may have an alignment issue if you are missing so many channels, have you tried to adjust the dish or skew the LNB. I am using patch 127 at the moment.

tx nuts much appreciated.Are you in Austria? Also how do i delete all tps? I only have 28.2 scanned in at moment on fixed dish... would it be worth trying 19.2 astra as well? As i said very new to this.. how would i skew lnb..had a friend out with meter and said all dish alignments are correct! sorry for so many questions how you get all v and h or is this a feature blind scan does it self? Its driving me mad as i know box and dish are sufficient. Should i scan all sats in to see if i get anything on 19.2 e.t.c?

You could always use the wonderful Blank Transponder maker for your TM5402HD if you have Excel on your PC/Laptop follow this guide here: http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...cratch-273569/ latest version is on page 2 of that thread.

The List works on the DrHD series as well as the Blade and Clarke tech receivers as they all share the same .CNDF file

I use it all the time on my DrHD Grand Triple and it saves doing a blind scan as when you create the list it downloads for any of the 3 popular Sat List sites such as Flysat, Lyngsat & Kingofsat so you know the transponders it creates are up to the very latest that day.

Hi btarr. I am in London not Austria. To skew an LNB you need to twist it slowly left or right and see if it improves the signal. I have sent you a PM with a guide on how to delete TP's and do blind scans if you are interested. You can also try digicons method if you want. I personally prefer to do blind scans my way rather then filling out spreadsheets.

I've just sent back a TM5402HD that didn't work on all vertical tp's above 11426khz, your problem sounds similar. I swapped it out for another TM5402 which was fine on the same lnb so I know it's the box, have you tried it on another dish/lnb output?
