Help with TM twin -oe please

heys guys my tm twin -oe was working great until last week and just kept saying starting 99% so i downloaded a new image loaded it on to the box , the on screen message told me it was all loaded and to power off and restart which i did , when it restarted it was back to the factory image so i reloaded the image again and still the same problem , thinking it was a dodgy image i found a different one a 4th dimension image and now when it boots it it shows the 4D logo but then goes back to the factory image , someone has said that this box is a dual boot box , if so i do i boot it in the other image ?

    cheers gibbo

Its not a Dual boot reciever i have one here happily running the 4D latest OpenPLI 3.0 image, I believe that on the transition from certain images you have to load a bootloader first before flashing the image, Although the one i have i just flashed OpenAAF 2.0 and went staright to the 4D image without problem

The tm-twin oe is a dual boot receiver, you get into the stock firmware by turning box off and then on and I think pressing the menu button constantly (somthing like that), by the way is also known as a protek omega box as well.

Gibbo When you have loaded the new image have you turned the box off and then on and keep pressing the exit button on the front of box until the booting screen appears, around 10 seconds I think. Is something to do with loading the new partitions.

It is a dual boot receiver and like the 2T and the TM Single these receivers originally come without E2 installed just a factory closed source firmware. I cant remember the exact button but pressing menu or ok or enter during bootup switches between the native factory preset firmware and the E2 image if one is installed.

ok so here we go, ( it's been a while since i used one of my TM's ).

When powering on for first time after flashing with bootloader and image you MUST REPEATEDLY PRESS EXIT until the image boot logo appears after the initial splash screen.

IMPORTANT - BEGIN PRESSING EXIT BEFORE AND DURING POWERING BACK ON - IMPORTANT

( bootloaders for use with the ViX image can be found on the openvix image download site, i wont post a link so as not to fall foul of the forum rules in some way ).

To boot into the default closed source firmware.

while powering on the receiver either repeatedly press or hold the ok ( or menu i'm not sure which way around they are ) button on the receiver this will boot into the default firmware.

To boot into the E2 image ( if the receiver has one flashed ).

While powering on the receiver either repeatedly press or hold the menu ( or ok button i'm not sure which way around they are ) button on the receiver this will boot into the E2 image ( if one is installed ).

On NEW VIRGIN receivers that have never been flashed with an Enigma 2 image or required bootloader, you MUST repeatedly press menu for a few seconds after the Linux penguin splash screen appears, you will not see an image boot logo.

It looks like the box is now stuck on "Booting....................". Please help

                I did the following

                Copied the image to USB
Put the tMtwinOE in deep standby
                put the usb in front
switched it on with USB in front
pressed exit button repeatedly on load
It prompted that the flashing is complete. Take out the usb and reboot
did that and on reboot pressed exit button repeatedly on load
now it is stuck with "booting............" message
