      hi m8,
you dont need the patch or softcam to view chns from astra 2you will get all the free to air chns, if your missing some chns i would try a re-scan on that sat, a few odd chns like chn 4HD you will need a sky freeview card

Thanks for the replies but I?m still puzzled. I have done a rescan, I can receive BBC1 London, and some others but can?t get BBC1 Yorks/Lincs. Other channel I cannot receive ITV2, ITV3 and 3+1, ITV4 and 4+1, and E4,E4+1 I get ITV Yorkshire OK.Other channels that are OK are ITV+1, ITV4+1. Can you explain how to input chan transponder for regional BBC&ITV Thanks again.

hi m8 first off goggle it type in lyngsat once there look up astra 28.2 east this will show you all the transponders and the bouquets i.e all the chans on that transponder.once you find what your looking for write down transponder frequency.at this point good idea to ad lyngsat site to your taskbar.now with your remote hit menu and go to installation scroll down to advanced search hit scroll go to transponder and add the frequency that your after then hit scan at the bottom. if technomate states that you already have that transponder just add it anyway.once scan is done you should be smiling again with regional chans,i live in the midlands but i'm a geordie and i get tynetees and bbc looknorth.good luck cheers

No not yet. I know it’s not the box, I have tried it on another dish. I have been told the dish needs adjusting, been trying for 3 hours now and still no joy. I’ve decided to get a satellite engineer out and set it up properly. Thanks for all your help at least I have learnt something new thing.

                        channels lost

best thing to do is put a mark with a permanent marker pen
on dish settings and rotor settings i have had both move in strong winds.. then its easy to reset it up again... when wind dies down..rather have that than over tighten and strip threads in rotor...

Sat engineer is ?25 hour. It certainly is a nightmare when it won’t go right. Took me 2 days to get a picture other than on Astra 28.2E. Been very windy today so will keep trying tomorrow. The only thing I have not moved is the pole the motor is fastened to, will have to double check it is completely horizontal tomorrow. It just seems strange to me that most of the channels on Astra are 97% level and 97% quality with a hand full showing 79% level and 19% quality. This is the case on other satellites as well

your transponders on 28.2 east .here is the simple explanation on how to.
transponders are stronger or weaker than other transponders .when you set your dish up you probably got a picture and said great i'm up and running but the chances are you must have picked up the strongest transponders .i made the same mistake and could not get half of what was supposed to be there.the solution go to google type in WHATS MY LATITUDE once in the site type in your post code ,it will give your dish elevation and inclination settings for your dish (but once again pole-mount has got to be spirit level vertical this is crucial or you will not get all sats) then take it from there.the best of luck any questions just ask(one other thing make sure pole-mount is vertical and if you have motor make sure the motor on the pole-pole mount is pointing true south do this with a compass or wait till 12.00 midday and turn the motor on the pole mount untill it does not cast a shadow on the wall that's how i did it.have tried to make it simple for infacy it is not hard not rocket science cheers.
