    Lost channels

Hi wondering if someone can explain please, in an easy manner as i am a newbbie. When i originaly set my system last week it all tuned in perfect. Now when it goes to satallites the signals do not seem so strong and it doesnt pick up all the transponder it used to. Know that i tightend all nuts and bolts securely. Have read about LNB being on squish. Mine was by mistake before setting up. Does this need straightening?
    Many thanks

hi m8 agood starting point is to go to 13.0 east hotbird just get any chan and save then goto thor 1.0 west if you get a chan on that one save you should then be o clarkes belt wich means all sats between 42east and 30west should be there.also chrck with spirit level that pole mount is completley horizontal if it is not you won't be on clarkes belt.

Why is it important to have LNB squiff and not straight up and down? Sorry put all equipment in myself and like to know basic simple things.

hi m8 correct pronunciation sku no such thing as squiff
on your lnb (this is the lens) you focus the lnb by moving it in or out or left or right to pull in all transponders on a given sat
provided you have a signal (that is that the dish is vertical on the pole-mount) on old amstrad sky recievers we used to call it sku but that is when it was raining u used to get speckies(loads of dots blocking out the signal by rain)now we call it fine tune .this you can do from the reciever ie if signal gets a bit blocky u can fine tune the sat if it is motorised to get a clearer picture ie move the dish by increments left or right till u get clearest picture thats it not as tech as it looks.cheers

Thanks for that m8. Made it clearer. Just a small lead on, so it doesn't matter if it is not offset.
                tm6900 Super+, 80cm televe dish, motorised.
