i take it you mean tm 5000 or 6000 series receivers
if i was going for a new receiver i would go for a HD model
and with technomates thats the tm 6000 model. as for pvr
they dont come with a hard drive fitted you can with the
tm 6000 super models connect a external hard drive via the
rear usb port and you can also record onto a memory stick
i think this is the same for the tm SD 5000 super models as well
as for the best hard drive to use, i hope other members post the
one they use and it's good and bad points to help you choose

I beg to differ a little my friend,

there made by same people,,, the images are built from the same cvs....

the tm9100 is more like the TGS110( could say its cousin )
the tm600/tgm500 more like the TGS210/TGS200.

              very iTgate like box
              UR TEAM 4ever!
              boom!

Well there iTgate control centre and Techomante control centre for other boxes support the backups now, would be suprised if they dont go on to add support for the 500/600 in these

Just bought one tm500 off ebay, sound quality is better than dm500, comes with cccam and configs, so easy to setup. I prefer this box than dm500.
