I have a spare Maxtor 500GB HDD that I could use to record onto via my Nano, it's been formatted for a PC, do I need to reformat it to Linux to use on the Nano?
You can use the menu system of the Nano itself what ever image you have installed use the Hard Drive Initialise option and this will format the hard drive for you
