    Technomate 5200 Super Desperate Help!

Hi guys. I really need some help with setting up my Technomate 5200 Super.

Im trying to setup multiple satellites manually after experiencing issues with the preloaded ones.

I have reset the box back to factory settings so that i have no channels and no satellites.

What i have done so far, is selected Atlantic Bird 3 from the satellite menu, saved it. Then gone into the motorised menu, manually moved the dish with the remote control until i got a signal on a known working transponder, saved it and carried out a blind scan. This worked fine. When i add a second satellite, say Thor for example, i do the same thing and all is good. When i try to view channels on Atlantic Bird 3, the dish moves to the wrong place!!!!

I am going mad with this!! Its like the receiver is ignoring my saved settings. I am using a disceq 1.2 motor and never had this problem with my old Humax FA-FOX unit.

Can someone please give me a hand as im starting to think my receiver is faulty.

    Thanks
    Dan

strange one this..the only time i have had this is when iv moved the dish manually and stored the position but then exited without doing a chanel scan first..but u say you have done this..
how far out is the dish moving?...also will the dish then move back to thor ok?
you could try starting at 1west and then go e/w and try a fiew different positions and see how these go!!
with what ur saying you are doing everything right...
then if it continues plug your old box in and try again with this...if all ok then it rules the motor out and the problem lies with the box..

A couple of degrees. Since I posted last, i have started again. This time, found, scanned and saved Atlantic Bird 3 then attempted to find Thor. The receiver wouldnt find a Thor signal at all. Rebooted the box, tried again and it then found Thor! I have just scanned and saved channels on Thor, then tried to view a channel on Atlantic Bird 3. The dish looked like it moved to the correct place but it said no signal. I rebooted again and the signal was back!

Its almost like you have to reboot the box after you add and scan each satellite. Have you heard of this before?

I will test this theory and get back to you shortly.

when useing diseqc 1.2 settings i go to the west and work towards the east first start by setting on your satellite list rthe sats you want, and then start at hispasat 30w find save and scan the satellite. then check all the fta chns are opening with a good strong signal then useing your vol buttons move the dish to next satellite ie:15w find and scan etc and continue in this way untill you have all the satellites set

            Cheers Benny.

Have you ever heard of having to reboot after scanning each satellite?

I think maybe i was doing something wrong. I've just managed to get Atlantic Bird 3, Amos, Thor and Sirius 4 all working. Seems i hadnt scanned properly before moving on to find the next satellite.

So far its working. Thanks for you help guys.

P.s. is the latest Digi-TV softcam still working on Thor as my Nagravision channels are still locked. I have turned off Digi-TV AU. I assume that only the nagravision chls are descrambled with the softcam?

Yeah looks like you were buddy. Thanks for your help!!

BAck to the softcams, am i doing something wrong with them? Basically put the latest softcam on a USB stick. Plugged into my box. Went to USB menu, data transfer and selected the softcam. It went to 100% in a second and didnt reboot.

                  Is that correct?

Also does doing a factory reset remove any patches?
