    Need info on TM7102

Hi, i need a closed source sat receiver with twin tuner + HDD recorder which will be replacing a sly box for a friend who needs a receiver that is easy to use & not complicated & the (TM7102 HD super+ )seems to fit the bill from what I have read ,as it will support CCcam & Ncamd ,what I want to know is when recording 2 different channels with this receiver have the channels got to be on the same transponder or will it record from 2 different transponders @ the same time as long as on the same satellite ,also is this receiver still supported with patches ,firmware updates &channel lists etc. on the forum,or if you can recommend another closed source receiver that has the same facilities as the 7102.
    thanks ,gooner18

The last Patch that came out for the 7102 was Oct 13, so its still supported and no you can record 2 totally different channels at the same time as its a twin tuner

For that you would have to pick a channel from the same transponder as one of the Tuners is actually recording from as most people would use a twin tuner to watch 1 channel and record another channel but if your recording 2 different channels then your stuck with the TP's that the tuners are locked to.

There probably are other receivers but not many that have a Built in T2 RF Modulator that has Freeview HD on board

Ok thanks was just a bit concerned about the support as it is for a friend & it will cost him about ?450 which is a lot of money if the box cannot be updated or will that not matter to much as it only going to be used for 28.2e . & as I am recommending it to him.

If its only being used for 28.2? east then Firmware updates wont matter at all, Once patched it will do what every other Ethernet enabled receiver will do which we cant discuss on here but you know what i mean
