a couple of questions please for tm5402

Hi, I have a technomate tm5402HD that I would like to bring back to life.... Am I correct on saying that is version M1 because on the actual box it only state TM5402HD CI+ super+ ? If yes, I went to download center and I can't download the latest patch ( 142p 09-07-2014 ) the download get stuck and it is only a 6.5MB file, so anyone please can point me in the right direction for the latest patch?

HI If you look in System Info it should tell you the model and what firmware(patch is loaded). If i remember correctly the best patch is probably 127 and you will need the Addon patch (0002) for extras like Youtube etc.

But patch 127 has been made in 27-12-2012 there are more recent from 2014 that theoretically should be better? or am I completely wrong?

Hi Dont forget if you have the MK1 box then it goes back a few years as we have had the MK2 and MK3 boxes since then. What patch do you have and do you have the Entertainment menu which comes from the 002 addon?? I refer to 127 as it was the one i had at the time. I now have the F3/5 and Starsat 8800HD boxes. Do you have a specific problem at the moment

Hi and thank you for your reply, under system information at the moment I have patch 1.31p (August 2013) and the model is tm-5402HDCI super, so is it the MK1 that you are referring? At the moment I don t think I have problems, just very little use of the box to say really..... My idea was to load the latest patch available thinking my box would benefit form it.....

Hi ..Pretty sure its the MK1..the MK3 came out last year. Patch 131p is obviously a Phantom patch but you still need the addon patch for the internet functions. To get the best out of this receiver you probably need a motorized dish to enjoy channels opened with a softcam or BISS keys. There are other options but not allowed to tell you.

Hi. The MK3 does not require the addon..and it has WIFI and Ethernet capabilities. Also if you want the adult stations 1 and 2 you will need to activate them using 1149 from remote( for all models).

This is strange.... two days ago I could not download this patch from the very same link you gave me...... and now perfect! 1.42p patch installed and addon is there although I can not tell if it has been installed with the patch or was already there from my previous addon install. anyway everything working at the moment on my motorized dish....

Hi. Addon is required for the MK1 and 2 but not the 3 as far as i can remember. The best way to tell if addon is available is to go to MENU - ENTERTAINMENT and check if YouTube and TM Online etc are there.
