    Comag SL65 upgrade to TM6900Super + ???

    Upgrade Comag to Technomate?
Hi Everyone, I have a Comag SL65 running ALI, 90cm dish and motor, and was considering if it is worth over ?200 to upgrade to the TM6900 Super plus? I have always had a problem trying to add sats to the SL65, as I cant find where to enter the USALS degree setting. Also I cant find an ALI editor that will talk to the SL65 (E1). So if I spend the money what benefits will I get beyond the obvious (HD, Freeview etc). Many thanks for any replies and the forum looks like it will be very useful if I do upgrade.

you will get good support on this site and the official technomate site.although none of these boxes are "plug&play"they are user friendly.they are patchable at the moment, and easy enough to add sats though they already have plenty in their data base. I"ve got the std tm6800 and get on fine with it,usals is real easy to set up on these boxes, but be aware a lot of people are now going down the linux route and you can get plenty of advice from others on this site for that.

      Thanks

Many thanks for the reply. Given what you say about people going down the Linux box route, do you think that is worth investigating or do you think the TM has plenty of life left in it?

I think it has got plenty of life but others will differ.I personally dont want the hassle of the linux boxes but ask in the forum.
the HD and upscaling give a great picture on the tm6000 series and there are plenty of channels even on FTA only.still as I say have a good look round the forum before making your mind up.

I'll continue reading around before making my mind up.
