    TM-5200D USB functions

    Good day to all.

I have received a Technomate TM5200D USB receiver and have tried to connect USB devises to record or playback material.

Connecting a Flash Drive, the receiver recognises the drive but when I connect external HDD, either powered by the receiver on externally powered I receive a message that the USB device is not recognised.

Is this normal for this model of receiver or am I doing something wrong.

    System Info.
    S/W 1.65P (Mar 09 2009)
    H/W 1.10
    Boot 1.12 (08:21)
    CH Feb 09

    Thanks to all

Had exactly the same problem when i first got my 5200 Super. As Fearona has already stated, you need to format the drive as FAT32.

as the others say FAT32 format with tool from TM website. External powered HD: not all work good. Connect the USB after the TM powerd up. Also check in USB menu Disk Manager to use correct \dev (1 or 0). Giving a label to the FAT32 formated hard disc sometimes helps making the disc more responsive.
            Working USB hard disc:
Freecom Mobile Drive XXS 250 GB
Sometimes working HD WD mybook home edition 500GB: not always waking up, when external powered HD goes in to deep sleep.
