Recordings Freezing

External HDD = Toshiba 1 Terrabyte

I have a constant internet speed of almost 29mbs.
However, some of my recordings are failing because when I am watching a recording I find that the recording froze at a certain point.
This could be at any time of the recordings.
Sometimes, but not very often I just get a black recorded screen.
On some occasions (on a one hour recording) I find that there are only 50 minutes recorded.
The recordings are set to record 3 minutes before & 5 minutes after a programme.
Would anyone know a fix for this ss I find it strange with a good internet speed?

Internet speed has absolutely no bearing on whether or not a recording will work unless of course your talking about recording premium channels which as you know is a no go subject.

Re-initialize the hard drive from scratch and test with FTA channels only and report back

FTA channels are the only ones recording properly.
The HDD has been re-initialized already.

then you know where the problem lies if FTA record perfect, Then its your so called 'Gift' thats the problem and i am afraid thats about as far as we can advance on that problem.

also 29mbs BBS means zip if you have a really bad line quality (Ping)

Ping is about 11 on average.
I'll try 2.3.0 to see if it will make any difference.
I'd prefer to use Vix but my remote control won't work on any other image.
When I purchased my receiver 4 or 5 years ago there was a faulty batch of Technomate remote controls that came with the receivers.
That is why these remote controls won't work with the newer images.
