Hi,

I was hopeing for a bit of help!!

I have a tm5300 and a 80cm dish on a motor...

I have downloaded the darkman patch( Have not put on reciver yet)

Do i then need keys to view scrambled channles??

Is there differnt keys for different channles??

What channels will i receive and how often do they need changing??

If you have downloaded the latest patch it will contain the latest keys.If the patch is not up to date you can download the latest keys in the form of a softcam update.
Different groups of channels require different keys.The channels you can view(descramble) depend on the keys provided in the patch/softcam.
On Thor satellite 0.8/1 degree west the patch will descramble the Digi tv package of films sport and documentaries etc.
Lists of channels for which keys are available can be found by searching around this site and others.
The keys need updating at intervals decided by the provider and is difficult to predict,but if you log on to sites like this you will be able to follow the key changes and updates.

Do I just need to use the loader and upload the softcam updates you are posting here in this thread?

Could I not end up with 20 updates? (in theory)

I only want to use the technomate to view persian channels on Hotbird 13.

I am a complete novice to satellite. I have a Technomate 6800HD receiver, Diablo Cam, CAS 3+programmer and dish set to 19.2. I have underworld 174 on my cam. Do I need to patch my Technomate with latest softcam file? Thanks in anticipation of reply.

If your cam is updated regularly then you dont need a softcam as your cam opens everything patch does..only useful for key changes which autoupdate wont work
