    TM-5300 +USB SUPER

    Hi All

Please help with a couple of questions I have, I did a search and read similar posts before posting this question. I have TM-5300 +USB SUPER connecdted to 3 LNBs ( not motorized) and these LNBs are Hotbird, Arabsat and Freesat. I just want the to download the correct patch and softcam to open locked channels, I saw several links to download but I want to make sure I am downloading the correct patch and softcam. Is it ture that I must have motorized dish? Someone told me that but I don't belive him.
How often in the year do you think I will need to patch my receiver with patch and softcam?

Many thanks to anyone who helps with my questions

    Cheers

    Adam

No need to be motorised to patch but with the sats you are facing you cannot open anything. The only package available is digi tv on 1 west. There are a couple of odd channels on 5e and also TV globo on 13e though this is portugues language. 1 west gives footy/films etc and mostly have English audio option.

you need the dish moving to thor 1w satellite
there is about 12 sport chns on the digi-tv package on thor 1w
and english games are on nova sport. there are also a number of film chns
plus discovery.animal planet, adult, cartoon etc.
in all there is about 140 chns that the patch opens

Thanks mate, my TM receiver can have another LNB ( 4 in total) so can I add another LNB and this LNB will be for Thor satellite? The dish still needs moving but I will tune it so not to loose existing satellites. I am looking at lyngsat and there is Thor3 and Thor5, which one to choose?

          Thanks in advance

i think the dish will need to be moved you dont say what size dish your useing but for 1w you will need a dish at least 80cm to get a good signal in most conditions from the uk and to get astra 28e and thor 1w 0n a fixed dish it would need to be a very large dish, i would get a diseqc motor fitted and get signals from most sats, you are limiting yourself with a fixed dish. as for 1w just set up and get a strong signal use the bbc world news chn to get the best signal and then when you scan the satellite you will get all the digi-tv chns

The dish i've got is 90 CM, I already spent a lot on the existing satellites (3LNBs, dish and someone to set it up. I am not good in hardware but I patched the receiver easily) so it's difficult to buy motorised dish now. I am stuck, I can't have cable and it is looking using TM is not that straight forward as I thought. The option I am thinking of now is to buy Dreambox and use it instead of TM and use a pay server. If I do that will I have the same problem i.e my existing LNBS are not good positioned?

              Thanks

You will always have the lnb issues. You need motorised system to sort this out.

What a surprise today, I phoned VM few months ago and they said you can't have Cable in your area. However today I put my post code on VM web site and wow I can have cable and 50 MB broadband. I phoned VM today and they said Yes there is cable in your area. I really will appriciate any expert give their opnion on which route to go : have a cable or change LNBs satellites to motorized? which is better? Which option less costly? I guess I will still can't watch Saturday 3 PM kick off with cable.

                  Thanks mates
