card slot menu on new magic patches

can anyone explain what the card slot menu is for on the new magic patches.I have installed the 690p on my tm6800HD and the 305p on my old 1000d and they both run fine no probs with all the listed channels open.

ive just checked a tm1500 and cant see a card slot menu as such it just has the usual smart card-slot1 and if i press ok nothing happens. can you explain a little pal.

Just flashed a TM5400 for a friend. Card slot is as always been. Says slot 1 till card inserted.

yeah I think you need a card in for it to come up then slot 1 will change to the encryption type say viaccess then if you highlight that and press the ok button twice a menu comes up.(it may come up on other patches but I"ve just found it)if you play around you can alter the maturing rate what ever that is. I just used 0000 as the pin and it let me in.

what does altering the maturing rate do?

Allows you to stop/allow adult content. Ie on digitalb ~~~~ it will ask for pin if maturity rate is set.
