5200d usb super + missing TP / channels

    Hi
I have been given a tm-5200D USB super + and was going to change it for my TM1500 CI Super but it appears to have some sort of problem. My wife regularly watches TVE i on channel 210 which appears on 19.2e astra 1 11.568V 22.000. However the 5200d doesn't even find that TP (it does find a 11.567V 22000) but that hasn't got TVE i. I currently have fixed dish and I am just changing over the cable and re-scanning.

my friend who gave it to me thought the software or something was a bit screwed up, but I have tried official and patched downloads with no success. I also believe that there is no channel list available for this model to download?.

    Thanks Guys

    technomate problem

hi m8, check the lnb settings and make sure it is set to universal and the l.o.f. is set to 9.75/10.6. then you could try a blind scan instead of a tp scan to see if you can find tvei on a different frequency than 11.568.v.22000..5/6

delete 11567 and add 11568 manually then you should pick up tve i.

Thanks for all the prompt replies. After some more experimenting today I think that there must be something wrong internally. I added a new TP with 11.568 22.000MS/s and did a scan and only got 7 channels, Canal Algeria, TV2-11.568 V, TV3-11.568 V, Al Masriya, RAI 1, RTPI, ARTE and no TVeI. The main problem seems to be that this receiver is only giving 22% with 97% strength wheras the other receiver is 97% and 78% quality. Al i am doing is swopping over the cable so it's either a mismatch on the LNB or some internal issue? The 1500 gives me Film 1.1, Sport1 and Film 1.2 as my first 3 channels wheras the 5200D gives the first channel as Belsat. (Belsat is channel 15 on the 1500). Any other thoughts on settings or compatability with LNB? issues. Thanks

Thanks hoggy for the suggestion, I didn't think there was a channel list for the 5200 super, but this 1000 list seemed to load ok. TVei is on the list with the correct frequency etc but still no picture and the quality is in the 20% area. I'll think I'll open the box up sometime and check for poor connections?

                tvei

you could try a manual pid search on 11.567.v.22000,v-pid(0058) a-pid (0059) p-pid (0058) to find tvei but as you say your 5200d is 22% quality so this would imply that you are not getting enough signal to download the data from the stream but you are getting the other 8 channels on the selected transponder. very strange!p.s. have you tried a blind scan?, this channel list can be used for all 1000/5000 super series stb,s. thanks to william1 for the channel list.

mucha gratias to all the people who have taken the time to reply to my questions.
I have now found the problem. I was just looking over the rear of the receiver and wondered whether I could check the voltage on the LNB connector and noticed that the inner conductor connector was bent/too wide eg the spring loaded metal tags would not be pressing onto the centre conductor correctly when the wire was screwed in. I carefully inserted a sewing needle and managed to bend the tags slightly towards the centre. They are not perfect, but seemed to grab the needle slightly. I connected up and turned the unit on and the strength and quality for TVei is now 97% and 58% respectively with a pretty good picture. Thanks again for all your input and help
I didn't try it but is the Loop out available as an input or is it only an output?

Woops forgot, another question. When you load back in the channels should I use the default button or the normal channel button, what is the differenc?

glad you sorted it pal, as for the loop-out on a technomate its for a output only although on echolink stb,s it seems to act as a input aswell!!

                      Hi MDT,
Well perhaps I spoke to soon This afternoon the quality was way down again (20%) so either I didn't do enough on bending the centre connector contacts back to it's correct position or there's a fault with the connector/tuner module? The chap who gave it to me said it also wouldn't drive his dish which sort of still points to a faulty connector? However thought nothing to lose so stuck it onto the loop through and WOW the strength and quality up in the high 90's and a perfect picture..........BUT on quickly going through the transponders which were on Astra 19.2E (would they have been loaded from the channel list?) a good 30% of them were poor strength and quality. So not sure where we are with this now, it's currently back with the chap who gave it to me to see whether it's any better with his set up. Cheers

Delete dead tp and re enter new ones. TP's do get killed off and not used.
