well folks the fella who set up my technomate 5200d has left me a little in the lurch and has not updated my box since sept so im tryin to find out how to do it myself any help would be great i think i need a technomate loader softcam and patch i know i need to update box with a usb pen i havent a clue how to find the things i need for updateing the box lookin at some of the downloads available on this site i dont see my version of technomate mentioned and no patchs since sept maybe their still unavailable anyhow ? ....any help would be great its doin me head in tryin to find help on web this site is the best site i have found for tech help so far ....thanks

the patch from sept will still be ok you just need to put the latest softcam in,if you load with usb stick you will not need loader.I enclose softcam,unzip then load onto stick.put stick in box go to usb menu then data transfer highlight the softcam in the file list and press ok.digi tv should then open.
you can check patch is turned on by going into the "system information menu" you should see CAS/BISS if not type in 2004 on the hand set this will toggle patch on/off.

Hi, Does anyone know if patches can be downloaded and installed using an apple mac. I am a newbie and want to download and learn how to patch my TM 31OOD

Another newbie here, I'm just about to order a sattellite, the 6800 HD standard. Is there much difference between in what this model and the other models can unlock, would you recommend a different sattellite or model?

Also correct me if i'm wrong, but you download the patch install that, download softcam and install that. The softcams keep the keys in the patch updated so the channels remain open correct?

Say for example one of the keys changed, would the channel become scrambled or would it remain open because of the softcam updating the key?

I'm going to have a moterized set up, a friend of mine should be helping me set it up, I also want other foreign channels like arabic music etc, would i be able to search and add these channels after a patch and cam update or would i be limited to the channels which are unlocked by the patch and cam?

One last thing (Sorry first post and its very long too many questions) is there anyway of getting more channels unlocked? I'm mainly looking for football (prem/italian/spanish/champs league) as well as movies in english if possible. I heard something about a diablo cam or something not sure but yea could you let me know please.

right to start off a lot of people are now buying LINUX based boxes as you can do more with them I"d ask in the general or technomate satellite normal thread section about them as I know nothing about them.
as to the TM6800HD I have one and they are great to start out on and easier than linux boxes for someone just starting out with user friendly menus.
they are patchable just read "noobs guide to patching your technomate" in the technomate sticky section. and you are right on how to do it.if the keys change someone will post them in a new softcam to load.
the patch will not stop you searching for any FTA channels on any satellite that you can receive.
I dont know about cams either but dont think they open much more than softcams.
all the help you need in setting up can be found on this site

help needed for TM 6800 HD original

Hi all,

I downloaded the latest patch for my new Technomate 6800HD original and I see I can't watch Digi TV (I did the download using the USB/Data transfer menu) I read that I need to install a softcam as well, afterwards...Where I can find the latest version of TM 6800HD original softcam?

you will find them at the top of the technomate page under "softcam keys" meanwhile here is the latest one thanks to technomate.

you need to download the latest patch that is specific to your box (you will find it lower down in the stickies) then unzip and load patch onto a usb stick put stick in the stb and go to usb menu>data> highlight patch>ok you then do the same for the latest softcam.(found at the top of the stickies).you will also find a tutorial on patching your technomate at the start of this thread.But unless your dish is motorised patching is of limited use as most of the channels still open are on THOR at 1West.
